Does Wren do dictation?
Yes. You can dictate your notes by voice and Wren turns what you say into a finished, structured clinical note. You don't have to speak in note format — talk through the session naturally and Wren organizes it into your sections.
What's the difference between dictation and transcription?
With dictation, you narrate the session in your own words and Wren writes the note from your account of it. With transcription, Wren captures the actual session audio verbatim and then builds a note from that transcript. Many clinicians use both depending on the session.
Do I have to dictate in a specific format?
No. Speak naturally — ramble, jump around, think out loud. Wren reshapes your words into your chosen note structure (BIRP, SOAP, DAP, or your own custom format) and your clinical voice, using the guide you set up.
Is voice dictation HIPAA-compliant?
Yes. Dictation runs through the same HIPAA-compliant pipeline as the rest of Wren: signed BAAs with every user and subprocessor, encryption in transit and at rest, audio deleted immediately after it's processed, and no use of your data for AI training.
Can I combine dictation with other input?
Yes. You can pair a dictated summary with a pasted transcript, an uploaded document, or typed notes in a single request, and Wren will weave them into one note.
